Rheem · RTG and RTGH series
Rheem tankless heaters are a common builder-grade install across the Wasatch Front, and they need the same yearly descaling as every other brand. We flush Rheem units for a flat $225 and document the service for your warranty.
Rheem's maintenance guidance calls for flushing the heat exchanger to remove mineral scale, and Rheem's warranty assumes the unit has been maintained. On Utah's hard water we recommend once a year. We hook up to the service valves, circulate descaler through the exchanger, clean the inlet screen and check for stored error codes.
Rheem units show scale the same way the others do: temperature swings, slower hot water, and error codes that come and go. A $225 flush is the cheapest fix and the first thing to try before anyone sells you parts.
Other brands we service:
Yes — both, plus Rheem's Prestige line and the Richmond-branded equivalents sold at home centers.
Usually yes, but it takes longer. We'll quote adding isolation valves as a one-time job so every future flush is quick.
Once a year, minimum. Utah County and south Salt Lake County water tests 12–30 grains per gallon depending on the city; homes without a softener may need it every 6–9 months.
"They helped us get back our warranty on our water heater and were super easy to work with. They showed up on time, finished early and we will definitely be using them again!"
