Bosch's Greentherm series (the 9000, 9800 SE and 9900i SE) is a well-built condensing tankless — stainless heat exchanger, quiet burner, and on the 9900i a built-in recirculation pump and Wi-Fi. It's also, like every tankless on the Wasatch Front, exposed to some of the hardest municipal water in the country. Flush Pros services Bosch units alongside Noritz, Navien, Rinnai and Rheem.
What the Bosch warranty says
Greentherm units carry a 15-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger and 5 years on other parts, and Bosch asks that you register the unit after installation. As with every brand, damage from scale and lack of maintenance is excluded — Bosch's installation guidance recommends periodic descaling, with frequency depending on water hardness. On Utah water, that means annual.
What we do on a Bosch visit
- Inspect venting, condensate drain, gas and water connections, and the isolation valve kit (Bosch units are usually installed with one — if yours isn't, we'll tell you).
- Circulate a professional descaler through the heat exchanger for about 45 minutes, then rinse.
- Clean the cold-water inlet filter.
- Check the recirculation loop and pump on 9900i units — recirculating systems scale faster.
- Verify flow and outlet temperature, and log the service against your serial number.
Bosch-specific things to watch
Greentherm units are condensing, so a blocked or frozen condensate line will fault the unit — keep the drain clear in winter. The digital controller stores error history; if the unit is showing a fault or cycling on and off during a shower, that's often a scaled flow sensor, and a flush is the first thing to try.
Same price as every other brand
$225 flat: $25 inspection, $200 flush, about an hour. Book online, or call/text 801-901-3727. If you've got a Bosch that's never been flushed and you're not sure how bad it is, book it anyway — the inspection is part of the visit and we'll tell you straight.
